KRISTEN KLEIN is a Brooklyn, NY based choreographer, dancer, teacher, and pointe shoe fitter. She hails from Connecticut and holds a BFA from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Boston, MA. She is the founder of Inclined Dance Project, a collaborative all-female identifying contemporary dance company. Inclined Dance Project aims to present works that challenge the stereotypical roles of a female dancer while allowing dialogue and personal contribution from the performers to influence choreographic choices. Her company has performed throughout New York, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and in Japan at such venues and festivals as BAM Fisher, Little Boxes Theatre, RAW Artists, The Julie Ince Thompson Theatre at The Dance Complex, The Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Boston University, The BARNES Foundation, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Baruch College, Dixon Place, Greenspace, Chen Dance Center, the

Center for Performance Research, University Settlement, the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance, P9 Café Osaka, The Actors Fund Arts Center, Triskelion Arts, The Totts Gap Arts Institute, and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, among others. In addition to choreographing with her company she has set work on Nimbus Dance Works, Nimbus2, One Day Dance, xyz NYC, and Dancewave, where she is also a teaching artist. Inclined Dance Project is currently in residency at Union Street Dance in Brooklyn, NY where they have been awarded the Mertz Gilmore Foundation Late-Stage Production Award and the Winter Restorative Space Grant. As a performer Kristen has worked with Six Degrees Dance Company, Tribe of Human, C.Eule Dance, Leyya Mona Tawil/Dance Elixir, Kelley Donovan & Dancers, Highway Dance, The Paper Dances, and Stephan Koplowitz Projects, among others. She is also the Special Orders Manager for Freed of London’s USA branch and has worked with ballerinas from the nation’s top ballet companies including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, LA Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Festival Ballet, and Orlando Ballet.

This is Kristen's first time choreographing for RIWCP.
