KOBE ATWOOD COURTNEY was introduced to dance, by Jordan Glunt, through Richmond Ballet’s Outreach program “Minds in Motion.” They trained with Richmond Ballet for the first 5 years, under the encouragement of Jasmine Grace. They then decided to continue their training with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. There they were able to learn and perform many pieces including “Peter Pan”, “Bluebird Pas de Deux”, and “Etudes”. They then finished their training at San Francisco Ballet School, under school director Patrick Armand. There, he was fortunate to perform pieces such as Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes and an excerpt from Jiri Kylian’s Sarabande. They have spent the past two years as a professional working with Orlando Ballet. They have been able to learn from many different works such as “Lyric Pieces” by Jessica Lang and “Lambarena” by Val Caniparoli. Another highlight was working with Jorden Morris on his ”Moulin Rouge” and revisiting his “Peter Pan”. Also during this time, they have had the honor to be mentored by Dexandro Montalvo.

This is Kobe's first time choreographing for RIWCP.
